Who is Bob?

Growing up on a farm in Bedfordshire I spent my early teenage years at home driving tractors, the combine and an old Bedford tipper that served as the grain cart.

I have enjoyed painting and sketching for many years and having moved to the South West in the late 90’s this has provided an abundance of inspirational subjects. The surrounding countryside, the Jurassic Coast and the beautiful harbours of Lyme Regis and West Bay to name a few.

I’ve had no formal training being self taught but have attended water colour and life drawing classes. I currently attend an abstract class that is immensely creative and rewarding our teacher teaching great techniques to express ourselves.

I work mainly in acrylic and oil on a range of materials and enjoy the process of sketching, building up layers, mark making and texture.

The walk between Charmouth and Lyme Regis (another world) provides great inspiration for recent works and I’m often asked for commissions of peoples favorite ladscapes or subjects.

Thank you for your interest and joining me on my journey.
